It Pays to Get Out of Your Cave and Network – SEO MeetUp

Well, I came out of my cave to learn more about search engine marketing at the SEMpdx event on backlink building last week and I’m really glad I did. Learned a lot of great stuff. So last night I went to their monthly networking meeting and gosh, girls, you should get into SEO / SEM because I was the only female type SEO person there! I asked Scott Hendison who is quite the search engine marketing expert if this was a male dominated industry and he looked at me like, “Girl – where have you been?” and “Duh.” Well, I’ve been in my cave working, struggling to survive. But it pays to get out there and network! I got to pick some brilliant brains and came away with some great tips on tools and ideas for my clients from some very talented people, including Todd Mintz, who organizes the SEO MeetUp group.
